ILLINOIS AUTUMN: The Rustle

THE RUSTLE

She thought
The rains
Had come
Again
But
It was
Only
The Rustle
Of the leaves
Across the roof
I've heard them
Myself
Across the pavement
Carried
By the wind
And they
Remind
That even
The Dead
Can testify
When moved
By the Breath
Of God

  1. Oh my gosh.

I love the line "even the dead can testify when moved by the breath of God."

    You are a gift, Honey.

  2. I need to remember that myself when I feel like a dead leaf.
